On the Road Again

This morning we were up bright and early to say goodbye to the park and all of the fun things we've discovered! We decided to do the drive home in one day instead of two, and knew it would be tricky (Cooper hates the car). We got all loaded up mid morning and headed out.

Cooper liked to shriek to get out of his carseat, so Daddy used his noise cancelling head phones so that he could concentrate on driving through the mountain construction. It was a long haul! Sawyer and Lily slept on and off and played really well. I may or may not have gotten sick on one of the winding roads around a lake and ended up needing a barf bag.

Tonight we were welcomed home by each of the children as they ran out to greet us after a great week away with the littles! Even the sky went above and beyond to make the night special. The view from my front porch (both looking in and looking out) will never get old!

Lake Life

Today was another day of exploring! We went for a drive in the morning and then spent the afternoon hanging out at the beach again. There aren't many people here yet as the season is just beginning, and the pool hasn't even opened, so our dreams of afternoons swimming in the pool haven't become a reality. It's ok though, because Sawyer, Lily, and Cooper are quite happy to play at the lake and build sandcastles with Daddy. Whenever he has work calls, we just head to the park for a bit and swing. It's been fun to vacation with just the little ones and soak all of their goodness in!!

Lake Day

Today started out much like every day at home....

With Cooper climbing across the table!

We took advantage of the sunshine and headed to the beach for a few hours!

When we got home, we made up some macaroni. Cooper couldn't wait for nap time and literally fell asleep while shoveling food sleepily in his mouth (I got the funniest video).

Daddy grilled us up some yummy steak for dinner!

And we spent the evening taking in the sunset and quiet.

Osoyoos

This morning the little ones were up with the sun of course. This Base Camp resort had such beautiful views to wake up to (that we didn't see last night after dark). We watched some bluey, had a few granola bars and then got ready to head out.

We stopped at the Denny's near by for breakfast. Sawyer and Lily got birthday cake pancakes and Cooper shared whatever we all had. Keeping him entertained was a job all in itself. Near the end, when Mike had finished his food, he ended up taking him out for a walk while I finished my crepe and grabbed the bill.

The drive through BC was beautiful and I loved all of the orchards and vineyards.

When we got to town, we stopped at a park to let everyone burn off some energy and then hit up a grocery store for food to get us through the rest of the week.

Then we pulled up directions to our next air bnb and headed there! It was in this nice little community on the lake with beautiful views and beautiful homes.

We unloaded the car, checked out the house, and went exploring around the neighborhood.

In the late afternoon, Daddy caught up on some work with his sidekick before we checked out the lake.

We finished off the evening with Dinner and the playoffs on the ipad!

Go Oilers go!

Mother's Day

This morning I woke to breakfast in bed after a brief sleep in, complete with a handwritten note from Mike. I was gifted a box of Hot Tamales (my fav) from my oldest girl, and school crafts from the elementary kiddos which now line the mantel on the fireplace.

After church, I fed everyone lunch and tidied the kitchen and then Mike and I took off to BC with the three youngest for a road trip. He has been wanting to check out the area around Osoyoos for a while, so we decided to make a mini vacay out of it and bring the littles along.

They were fascinated with the views of mountains and lakes along the way. As we drove, Lily said, "I'm hungry. Candy is not going to do it anymore!". That was our cue to stop at the next town for dinner.

We stayed at base camp in Revelstoke which was self check in. We got a place with three bedrooms, three bathrooms a kitchen and livingroom. It was quite enjoyable! As Lily ran around checking everything out she exclaimed, "This is so ACE!" Something one of the big kids would say.

Sawyer and Lily ended up sharing a room and Cooper took the last room with his play pen. It has a bed in it, so if he decides to be a stinker tonight I will just snuggle into that bed with him and let everyone else sleep (and hopefully sleep in). I'm regretting not being more prepared with granola bars or snacks for the older kids. This trip kind of snuck up on us after a busy few weeks and I didn't get as much done before hand as I'd hoped.

Full Days

Today the Relief Society put on a ministering conference. We had extra kids in and out all day, landscapers working away with their machines and dogs inside barking. I was barely home long enough to put a load through the dishwasher. We had the missionaries for dinner, but no clean plates, so I had to borrow some from Mom. I picked up Camilla from the movies after dropping Hyrum's friends home late. I came home tired in the best way. Mom picked some asparagus for us and I'm so excited to enjoy asparagus season!
