If Time Stood Still

Another Sunday Snapshot of Miss Joy because every week she seems to grow and change. We are savouring her sweetness. When I told Mr. Stannix how I wish we could freeze time and keep her this way for a little while longer, he asked her if that would be ok. She smiled wide, froze her arms in place and exclaimed, "FREEZE!" She held the pose for a total of five seconds before she proudly giggled at her own wit.

But for real, she is at such a fun age right now!!

Sylvan Hockey Tournament

Today we spent our Saturday in Sylvan at the boys Hockey tournament. We left everyone at home to hang out, except for Lily Lou. With the boys being in two separate leagues, there was lots of games to watch! On the short break in the afternoon, we went to BP's for a quick bite to eat with Joe, Fin, and Lily. Hyrum had gone out with his team earlier on, and caught a ride back to the rink for their last game. We got home in the early evening and enjoyed the rest of our time together as a family.

A Winter Sunset

Today while the boys were taking turns going for piano lessons, Hyrum offered to take Lily to the park for a few minutes. She was tickled pink!
They didn't last long, thanks to the cold, but they enjoyed the sunshine and their time together.

When we arrived home, the sunset was absolutely gorgeous. Before I joined the rest of the family inside, I paused to take a few pictures and soak it all in.

Catching the warm glow of the sun as it sets is one of my favourite ways to be still and fill my soul.

Boys Basketball Divisionals

Today we spent most of our day watching the boys basketball divisionals, and cheering on Hyrum (who also happens to have the #4 this year). It's been fun watching these guys improve this season! They did so good!

Girls Basketball Divisionals

Today we spent most of the day cheering on our favourite big sister (#4) at Basketball Divisionals. They fought hard and ended up getting second place. We were able to watch all of her games, though it meant a bit of extra driving back and forth. Another basketball season has come to an end!

Sonny at Sunset

Tonight when we got home, I couldn't help but snap a few pictures of this pup while the sun was setting! He's gotten so big, but we are loving watching him mellow out and become a better listener. He does a good job keeping an eye on the littles when they are outside.

Sunday Snapshots

This morning as we drove to church, I caught Hyrum's eye in the rear view mirror and made him smile after he had stomped out the door to the van.

If I could take pictures in the chapel, I would have taken one of Hyrum sitting on the Deacons bench, his dad sitting close beside him with his arm wrapped around his shoulders conversing quietly. I would remember their matching navy blue suits and how grown up he looked sitting next to his dad, taking his priesthood duties so seriously.

This afternoon Hyrum asked if he could make cinnamon buns. With a little bit of guidance, he pretty much made the dough and everything all on his own. This guy enjoys baking yummy things!

They made a great afternoon snack, warm and gooey out of the oven. Yum!

Hockey, Hockey, Hockey

Today was a Saturday full of hockey. The boys had a game this morning, and then they spent all afternoon at the neighborhood rink.

In the evening Mr. Stannix and I snuck away for date night. We went to Edo, and it was delicious!

Nakiska

It took me a while to finally settle into bed last night. Lily woke me an hour after falling asleep and I ended up lying with her on the couch slipping in and out of consciousness. A little while later I hear a dreaded splat. I couldn't quite make out who was barfing in the middle of the hallway until I carefully slipped off the couch. I dimmed some lights and cleaned up that pile, and helped Mr. O get back to bed, only to discover another pile by the bed and splattered on the edges of blankets. Nothing makes you wide awake in the middle of the night quite like the sound of someone barfing.

Then I was awake early to run Hyrum into the school to catch the bus for the ski trip. I hardly felt tired because I was running on adrenaline. The rest of the day was spent in Red Deer trying to get Sawyers passport figured out (we got everyone elses, except his), and hitting up costco with the two littles in tow.

The middle school ski trip to Nakiska was a lot of fun! Camilla and Hyrum loved being in the mountains and going on the more challenging runs. Canyon is great, but skiing in the mountains is better! A friend of mine ended up chaperoning and sent me pictures of the girl gang throughout the day. It looked like a pretty good time!

Hanging with Sawyer

This morning Sawyer and I wandered over to the new addition to take a look at everything. He chatted my ear off the entire time and laughed and giggled. It was fun to spend a few minutes together! We are still waiting on our range hood and the electricians to finish up some things. The floors are incredibly dusty and will need a good clean as well. But I can't wait to be in here!
