Girls Basketball Divisionals

Today we spent most of the day cheering on our favourite big sister (#4) at Basketball Divisionals. They fought hard and ended up getting second place. We were able to watch all of her games, though it meant a bit of extra driving back and forth. Another basketball season has come to an end!

Sonny at Sunset

Tonight when we got home, I couldn't help but snap a few pictures of this pup while the sun was setting! He's gotten so big, but we are loving watching him mellow out and become a better listener. He does a good job keeping an eye on the littles when they are outside.

Sunday Snapshots

This morning as we drove to church, I caught Hyrum's eye in the rear view mirror and made him smile after he had stomped out the door to the van.

If I could take pictures in the chapel, I would have taken one of Hyrum sitting on the Deacons bench, his dad sitting close beside him with his arm wrapped around his shoulders conversing quietly. I would remember their matching navy blue suits and how grown up he looked sitting next to his dad, taking his priesthood duties so seriously.

This afternoon Hyrum asked if he could make cinnamon buns. With a little bit of guidance, he pretty much made the dough and everything all on his own. This guy enjoys baking yummy things!

They made a great afternoon snack, warm and gooey out of the oven. Yum!

Hockey, Hockey, Hockey

Today was a Saturday full of hockey. The boys had a game this morning, and then they spent all afternoon at the neighborhood rink.

In the evening Mr. Stannix and I snuck away for date night. We went to Edo, and it was delicious!

Nakiska

It took me a while to finally settle into bed last night. Lily woke me an hour after falling asleep and I ended up lying with her on the couch slipping in and out of consciousness. A little while later I hear a dreaded splat. I couldn't quite make out who was barfing in the middle of the hallway until I carefully slipped off the couch. I dimmed some lights and cleaned up that pile, and helped Mr. O get back to bed, only to discover another pile by the bed and splattered on the edges of blankets. Nothing makes you wide awake in the middle of the night quite like the sound of someone barfing.

Then I was awake early to run Hyrum into the school to catch the bus for the ski trip. I hardly felt tired because I was running on adrenaline. The rest of the day was spent in Red Deer trying to get Sawyers passport figured out (we got everyone elses, except his), and hitting up costco with the two littles in tow.

The middle school ski trip to Nakiska was a lot of fun! Camilla and Hyrum loved being in the mountains and going on the more challenging runs. Canyon is great, but skiing in the mountains is better! A friend of mine ended up chaperoning and sent me pictures of the girl gang throughout the day. It looked like a pretty good time!

Hanging with Sawyer

This morning Sawyer and I wandered over to the new addition to take a look at everything. He chatted my ear off the entire time and laughed and giggled. It was fun to spend a few minutes together! We are still waiting on our range hood and the electricians to finish up some things. The floors are incredibly dusty and will need a good clean as well. But I can't wait to be in here!

House Progress

This afternoon I snapped a few pictures of the progress next door. The cabinets are mostly finished and we have countertops! It's been fun seeing everything come together. Next is tile on the bathroom floors and the kitchen backsplash.

After school we all went in to watch Camilla play her basketball game!

She is so passionate about this sport and it's been fun to watch her improve this year!

Back to School Again

Today was a busy day with the kids back to school! Camilla had Piano and Violin, Hyrum had a basketball game, and Joe and Fin both had hockey practise. I ran around in circles doing drop offs and pick ups.

Fin had a tummy ache in the change room and decided he'd best stay with me and run around. It's a good thing he did because he ended up puking in a bag in the back of the car while I went through the Tim's drive through.

I was able to catch the last half of Hyrum's game and a few of his baskets while Fin rested in the van. He played so well!

We all sat to watch the Oilers play in the evening. The boys are always screaming or booing at the TV. Or saying things like, "McDavid just DANGLED through the WHOLE team!!" "Let's GOOOOOO!" They know all the names and all the moves and I love watching them more than the game sometimes.

Family Bowling

Today we decided to take the kids to Red Deer and spend the day together as a family! We ate out for lunch and enjoyed an afternoon of bowling and laughing together. We grabbed two lanes so that Daddy could bowl with the big kids, while I took Ollie and younger with me. I think the big kids had bowled two whole games before we finished our first. Everyone had so much fun and left asking when we could go again!
