Family Bowling

Today we decided to take the kids to Red Deer and spend the day together as a family! We ate out for lunch and enjoyed an afternoon of bowling and laughing together. We grabbed two lanes so that Daddy could bowl with the big kids, while I took Ollie and younger with me. I think the big kids had bowled two whole games before we finished our first. Everyone had so much fun and left asking when we could go again!

Sundog

It was such a delight watching the sun sink behind the trees tonight! It soothed my soul as we drove. I love that beauty can be found even during the most bitter cold. These magnificent colored spots of light develop due to the refraction of light through ice crystals in the air. Nature is incredible.

February Break

The snow is still falling, and it's beautiful! We are enjoying our week with the big kids off school, slowing down and spending time together. We have been playing games, baking, and making raspberry jam all morning.

These are the days...

The Girls

We all had some form of Navy blue on today, so we decided to snap a picture, just the girls!

Cabinet Doors are on!

This morning we woke to blue skies. The most beautiful yellow sun popped up from behind the row of spruce trees. As it poured through the windows, I was warmed to my very soul.

Before the construction workers showed up next door, I snuck over to take a peek at the progress. The cabinet doors are installed and the railing has been stained to match the island and the beams.

Lily dressed herself and giggled as she snuggled next to me on the couch mid morning. We read a book which had me laughing out loud. It was a nice end to a long week!

Time for Short Hair

The fireplace is almost fully bricked. The flooring is done in three bedrooms and the office. We were officially given a move in date of April fourth, which feels like an eternity away. I'm really hoping it won't take that long, but the good news is, we should be back in the new house for my birthday! When we decided to bunk the kids in the rec room and join my parents on their side, we didn't anticipate the renovations taking this long. They have been so gracious to us with the extra noise and chaos!

This morning I decided I was tired of my long hair and took the scissors to it myself. I ended up cutting off quite a lot, but it feels so much lighter and nicer.

I didn't do too bad of a job if I do say so myself!

We finally have FLOORS and they turned out beautifully!

We are dancing for joy!

One step closer to being able to move in!

Happy Valentines

Mr. Stannix and I celebrated Valentines day by going out for lunch together. I met him at his office and together we drove to Grillers to enjoy a meal.

I ordered a delicious wrap and some yam fries.

For dinner the kids made individual heart shaped pizzas to enjoy!

It was time consuming, but everyone had a lot of fun and was so happy with their creations!
Happy Valentines!

Ollie Gets Stitches

Lately in the early mornings, the children have been riding their GT's down the laneway to catch the bus. Well, this morning, a few seconds after sending them out the door, I heard a frantic cry. I ran out the door to find Ollie with blood gushing down his face. Turns out one of the big kids was doubling with him and somehow the GT ended up flipping and he either snagged his head on a rock, ice chunk, or part of the GT (the story is still unclear). So while the rest of the kids waited at the end of the laneway for the bus, I got to drive Ollie into the hospital. I was pretty sure it was deep enough to need stitches, and it turns out I was right. When the freezing was put it, it just oozed out the wound, so he had to do it again. Ollie didn't like that part (and neither did I). But he was so brave and ended up with a couple little stitches. Afterward he said he felt well enough to go to school for the day, so we put a Band-Aid on it and called it good! Phew! What a Monday!
