New Christmas Sweater

 

Sunday Snapshots

After church today Lily fell asleep in my arms while the warm glow of the setting sun spilled through the kitchen windows in the West.

In the evening Camilla serenaded us with some Christmas songs on her violin.

I love listening to her play!

 

A Busy Saturday

Today was another busy Saturday. Joe and Fin had an early morning home game vs Sylvan, so Daddy took them in to the rink bright and early. Hyrum had an away game in Sylvan and was able to catch a ride with a friend as we just couldn't be too many places at once. 

In the late morning we went to the church for a Grinch Breakfast! The menu was all themed from the movie and the children had a lot of fun!

When we were done, we picked up Hyrum from his friends place and headed home for the afternoon.

In the evening we bundled everyone up and froze our butts off to watch a live nativity in town. It was cold and a few of the children weren't entirely happy to be there.

We made it up to them with Candy Cane hot chocolate after we got home! Yum!

 

Band Trip & Birthday

Today the Grade 8 band got to take a charter bus to Calgary to watch Home Alone accompanied by a live orchestra. 

Joe and Fin had a practice before dinner.

And we celebrated my Dad's birthday!!

 

The Cold Moon

The world woke looking bright and inviting after last nights full moon.

 

A Long Winters Nap

Today Lily fell asleep on our drive home from town. I carefully unbuckled her and lifted her out of her car seat and she happily snuggled into my shoulder and kept right on sleeping.

I quietly took her inside and tucked her into my bed...

Where she proceeded to nap for a long, long, time.

 

Sunday Snapshots

This morning I snapped a couple of pictures of Sawyer and Lily by the Christmas tree.

The lights often get turned on as soon as the first person wakes.

I love the extra cheer it adds to our morning.

Hello December

December has arrived with its cold and beauty. As I drove into town I noticed the ice and fog and had to stop for a picture. 

The lighting was so perfect. 

Here's to slowing down and savoring all the season has to offer!

 

Happy Birthday Mike

Happy Birthday to my dear Mr. Stannix today! We are celebrating you, your life, and all of your wonderful accomplishments today! 

My Mamma has been secretly working on this Harry Potter blanket for those naps he likes to take. It turned out so great! What a special treasure.

 

Monday Happenings

 This morning we woke to a bitter cold, blustery wind. Mr. Stannix and I took a quick trip to the city to pick out final finishings for the house such as doors, trim, handles etc. When we were finished we hit up Denny's for brunch and enjoyed hanging out together. In the afternoon we were back home with our cozy lit up Christmas tree.

After school Camilla had Piano and Violin. I killed time in between lessons knocking a few more Christmas gifts off of my list. We came home together and made grill cheese and curly fries for a quick dinner.

After dinner the boys bundled up and spent the evening shooting pucks into the net out back. Every once in a while, I'd hear one ding off the post and the boys cheer.
