iFly and Go Karts

 This Summer we decided to do a little staycation with all of us. Our first day brought us to Calgary to check out the ifly! Everyone was able to participate except for miss Lily, and they all had a lot of fun! A few of them chose to do the high fly and were able to fly really high in the wind tunnel with our instructor. It's quite neat how tensing and relaxing your body changes how you fly or fall. 

The afternoon brought us to the Skyline Luge for go-karting. I was slightly nervous to let Ollie loose down the hill on his own, but he quickly got a hang of the brakes and was able to make it down no problem. They were all stoked to go down for a second time! Lily and Sawyer rode down with Mike and I, squealing with delight the entire way.

I think everyone is going to sleep well tonight!

Family Time at the Lake

Today we went boating for almost the entire day! It was thirty degrees outside and the lake was basically glass. 

Everyone had a blast knee boarding and skiing with such perfect conditions. I could have stayed on those water skis all day. Nothing compares to the feeling you get when you get out on the glass beside the boat and see the clouds and your smile reflecting off the lake. It's like your skiing on the clouds and it's incredible. 

Joe loved knee boarding for his first time and ended up going three times total. 

There was also lots of swimming and jumping in the lake from the boat. The water was amazing and the weather was so hot you wanted to jump in and cool off.

We only ended up tubing for a short time at the end.

We all came home happy, tired and burnt!

A Sunday in the Garden

 This afternoon Lily brought me my shoes and put them on my feet. She then picked up the egg basket and led me outside. We went on an adventure together towards the top garden. We said hello to the chickens on our way. Once we made it to the garden, we noticed the ripening raspberries and ate to our hearts content. It was a lovely way to spend an hour on the Sabbath.

Construction Update

 Tonight we took a walk around to check out the new construction! The kids love seeing the new space and imagining what it's going to look like when it's finished!

They've started constructing the wrap around deck, and it's fun to see everything taking shape.

These huge glass balcony doors are going to let so much light into the kitchen! And I can't wait to step through them onto the deck to catch the morning sunrise.

The walkout basement is also going to be a nice addition once it's finished. Hyrum and Joe will have their bedrooms down there and the big rec room will be great as the kids are getting older and needing space to hang out with groups of friends. We can't wait for it all to be finished!

Evening Light

 We have a roof! Or at least the beginnings of one. Tonight we climbed out the old office window into the new space to check it out. It's going to be just perfect for us and our busy crew!

After we were finished admiring the space, we walked around the acreage as the sun went down. The golden hour made the lighting so perfect for photos and I couldn't help but snap a bunch of Joe, Lily, and Sonny boy as they hung out together. 

I sure love that freckle faced boy of mine and his HUGE heart and charismatic personality. He loves big!
