Jar of Buttons

Lately I've been feeling the need to bring some peace and order back into our home. With three littles, things can get pretty fun around here as far as sharing toys, sharing mom, and using "inside voices". Tonight for FHE I wanted to focus on love at home. I spent the morning making heart shaped donuts. The littles enjoyed shaking them in bags of cinnamon and sugar. We munched the odds and ends for a pre-nap snack. For Family Home Evening we sang awesome songs like this one and decided on a few "Home Rules" for us all. We still have a few more to add to the list. Mr. Stannix became very poetic during rule making. I love his last two additions to the list, seriously.

We wanted to get the kids excited about being kind so we now have an empty jar on the top of my piano. Each time the children do something kind, they get to put a button in the jar. Just before bed Camilla asked if she could give Joseph a kiss. She then picked a big button because "it was a big kiss". I am excited to fill up our little jar with acts of kindness this week!

St. Patty

We spent St. Patrick's day out at the Acreage this year. I made the boys matching green bow ties, I couldn't resist. I would have made Mike one too, but didn't want to go too overboard on the dork scale.  I packed so quickly that I forgot to bring Camilla a cute little shirt for her dress, so we improved and used one of Hyrum's. And excuse Hyrum's "Sunday Socks", they are extra "holy" today.

Rolls of Every Kind

We are hanging out at the Acreage this weekend.
This morning I let Joseph roll around in just his onsie for a little while.
Even though it's winter, I have to enjoy those legs rolls!

Second Cousins

There are now more Great-Grands than Grands.
Today we got the cousins (minus a few out of towners) all together for a St. Patricks day Celebration.
It's always fun getting together with cousins.
The kids were all pretty mellow.
We enjoyed green food, fun crafts and a gold coin toss!

A Sight to See

In the last couple of months Joseph has become such a big boy!
I still enjoy my snuggles when I can get them.
After I placed him in his crib the other day I couldn't stop looking at him.
And then I snuck down the stairs and grabbed my camera.
He looked so sweet sleeping there in his special blanket from Great-Gramma Purdon.
I admired his little face, his chubby fingers, and his tiny baby nose.
So angelic looking.

Grunt Work

Joseph can roll tummy to back, with a lot of grunting involved.
I feel like I blinked and he bacame this little man.

He actually looks a little bit like his mamma.
Well, more so than the other two did.
Here we go!

Almost there...
And... in goes the fist.
Success.

They're so good

Today was one of those rare days. Everyone woke up in a great mood and the morning seemed to roll smoothly. While I was downstairs with the boys I heard Camilla wake, dress herself, and make her bed. I love that girl! I then heard her walk to the top of the stairs. She stopped and shouted down the stairwell, "Do you want me to grab some clothes for the boys?" I smiled big and let out a laugh. I said sure, but she only managed a pair of socks for Joseph. Since the day started out so well, I thought we'd hit up the pool for the morning.

Hyrum had a minor fit at the entrance, but the changing went relatively well considering there was one of me and three of them. I decided to take a picture of them before we got in the water. It was Joseph's first time and needed to be documented. Everything went well but it was borderline too much to handle with all three and just one little me. Luckily my kiddos were extra well behaved and listening pretty good. Joe has no pics in the water. My hands were too full keeping an eye on the other two, but he loved it.

At the end, the kids all left without a fuss. We got changed and found our boots and headed out to have a snack. The kids found a little kids table and munched some cookies and a granola bar. A few minutes later we were finally ready to head to the car. I left with Joe's carseat over my arm, Hyrum's hand in mine and Camilla in tow clutched onto the swim bag. Although they did really well, we might wait for Daddy before we go again.  As I drove home I peeked at the three kids snoozing away in the back seat and thought "Wow, I really do have good kids."

My Pretty Lady

It's been a while since I've blogged about my little girl.
She has grown up so so much.
While we played outside I couldn't help but admire the blonde whisps of hair poking out from under her hat.
I admired her giant blue eyes sparkling in the sun.
And that smile of hers gets me every time.
Even with Jam on her face.

She is such a pretty little lady.
I adore her.

Slow Down

I've said it before, but I love bath time.
Especially baby bath time.
Joseph outgrew the sink a while ago and baths in the tub now.
Before baths I like to strip him down and let him air out for a while.
He enjoys watching the water run and kicking his chubby legs.
I enjoy his giant thighs and chubby feet.

Bath time is one of his favorite times.
He grins from ear to ear as he waves his arms and kicks his legs.
His toes are usually curled, making it hard to get the toe jam.
His breathing is quick and excited as the water waves around him.

When I take him out of the water he shivers for a few seconds.
I quickly wrap him in a cozy towel and snuggle him close to warm him up.
He coos in delight as I massage him with lotion and dress him.
And I can't wait for bath time to roll around again.
